Chris was a transformative and driving force in the institutional investment industry. He devoted a significant part of his life to a singular goal: empowering institutional asset owners to optimize outcomes for their stakeholders and beneficiaries. Simultaneously, he worked tirelessly to support asset managers, championing their vital role and helping them to deliver exceptional value for their clients.

His commitment to transparency and fairness led to a profound, industry-wide change. It all started in 2015 when he was appointed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to chair the Institutional Disclosure Working Group (IDWG), which brought together representatives from every corner of the institutional market—asset owners, investment consultants, asset managers, and industry bodies. This pivotal work directly led to the establishment of the Cost Transparency Initiative (CTI) in the UK, and subsequently, the Cost Transparency Standard (CTS) in the Republic of Ireland. Chris personally authored the foundational CTI templates and oversaw the successful introduction of the CTI across the entire market.

Seeing the need for specialized support, Chris established ClearGlass Analytics in 2019 to offer expert assistance with the adoption and seamless implementation of the new standards. Today, ClearGlass has worked with over 850 institutional asset owners in the United Kingdom alone, and partners with over 600 asset managers globally.

Chris was also active in driving excellence and global competitiveness in the UK asset management industry and better consumer outcomes as a Chair of FinTech North, professorships at Newcastle, Durham and Leeds universities and extensive engagements with conferences globally.
